1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how the iPhone and iPad app Zukan: Tap & Hear Japanese (みつけた!ずかん, the “App”) handles information. The App is designed for young children to use together with a parent or caregiver.
2. Information we collect
The developer of the App (“we” or “the developer”) does not collect personal information through the App. The App does not obtain or transmit your name, email address, phone number, address, location, contacts, photos, or device identifiers (including the advertising identifier).
The App has no account or sign-up feature, and it does not request access to the camera, microphone, location or photos.
3. Information stored on your device
The App saves the following settings on your device only. They are never sent to the developer or any third party, and they are deleted when you delete the App.
- Reading speed
- Volume
- Whether vibration on tap is turned on or off
4. Advertising, analytics and tracking
The App does not show advertising. It does not include third-party advertising services or tools that analyze or track how the App is used. We do not track users across other companies’ apps or websites.
5. Network use
The pictures and audio are included in the App and can be used without an internet connection. The App connects to the network only to use Apple’s services, such as:
- checking in-app purchase product information and purchase status, for example when the App starts; and
- making an in-app purchase or restoring purchases.
If you open our email address or a web page from the purchase screen, your email app or browser will connect to the network.
6. In-app purchases and payments
Payments for the in-app purchase “Full Picture Dictionary” (ぜんぶの ずかん) are processed by Apple through the App Store. The developer does not receive your payment details, such as credit card numbers, or your Apple Account information. Checking purchase status and access through Family Sharing also happens within Apple’s systems, and the developer does not receive information about your family members.
For information about how Apple handles your data, please see Apple’s Privacy Policy.
7. Children’s privacy
The App is designed for young children to use with a parent or caregiver. As described above, the App does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
Every in-app purchase is confirmed on Apple’s purchase sheet. On a device your child uses, you can also turn off in-app purchases with Screen Time.
8. Diagnostic information
If you have allowed “Share With App Developers” on your device, Apple may provide the developer with diagnostic information, for example when the App quits unexpectedly. This information does not identify you personally, and the developer uses it only to fix problems in the App.
You can change this in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
9. Information you send when contacting us
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the contents of your message (including any name you write in it). We use this information only to answer your question and to investigate problems, and we do not share it with third parties except where required by law.
